Hw: Due 19/5/14, PEEL Of Macbeth

Point 1. Full Of Scorpians is my mind (Metaphor), Macbeth is a quilty and ill minded person this is present in the quote by Macbeth that goes ‘ Full of Scorpians is my mind which signifys that macbeth has and danger in his mind or poison as scorpians are a very poisous being and maybe as macbeth has just commited treason and murder he his a very quilty and ill minded person at that.

Point 2. Both the worlds suffer (Metaphor), Macbeth is a very self centered and selfish person. This is present in the quote ” Both the worlds suffer” This suggests that macbeth doesnt care and want everyone to suffer due to his villianous deed like killing Duncan which he ovisously doesnt care about and just want suffering in the world.

Point 3. Treason has done its worst (Metaphor). Macbeth is shown in this quote as a very powerful yet very boastful at the same time. This is shown in the quote ” Treason has done its worst”
Signifying that Macbeth has not done his worst but the crime has meaning macbeth thinks he is far more capable of murder than what meets the eye and this quote is evidence to thia theory.

Miss Drewett – Macbeth – 13/5/14

1. Macbeth & Lady Macbeth has shifted power between themselves by changing their language like in lady macbeth using Lord to refer to macbeth which shows her love turning wrong just from this peice of language.

The Metaphors used in the Text are also representations like using The torture in the mind showing that macbeth is kind of scared of what he has done whereas lady macbeth is telling him to man up and stop moaning which is quite a large role reversal.

Another Metaphor Present in this text is: Treason has done his worst which could show this as his way of calling himself a type of treason as he has commited this crime of treason.

The last metaphor which connects to this point is ‘We have scorched the snake’ which shows that macbeth has hurt someone but he hasnt killed him which is a huge contrast compared to the other metaphors used to by macbeth.

1. I think that banqueo thinks that phephaps he might become king one day if the witches are wrong

2. I think macbeths thoughts of banqueo is that he will cut short his reign on the throne.

Securing: This situation for macbeth could turn nasty as the three men could tell everyone that macbeth hired them to kill banqueo and fleance which could show him and such a dark light that everybody could that macbeth killed duncan. This could lead to his wife leaving him and his reputation destroyed thoughly for the fact that not only did he commit treason but he also assinsated his best friend.

In Act 3 Scene 1 – 3 how might the main thought/emotions going though macbeth and lady macbeth mind and how is this interesting?.

Macbeth – Act 2 Scene 2 Hw

Securing :I think Shakespeare authorial intent of lady macbeth is to make her look like the man of the house by making Macbeth look like a coward and lady Macbeth controlling Macbeth by making him think that shell divorce him if he’s a coward and doesn’t kill duncan.

In a way Shakespeare is trying to rebel against the times where lady’s weren’t considered as strong and as brave as men but in his play their is a role reversal where Macbeth is acting like a cowardly wimp and lady Macbeth is acting as the strong brave one where normally its completely the oppisite. This also seen as macbeth acctualltly doesn’t kill his victim and instead hires assassins to kill his targets which is quite a cowardly action which also shows this role reversal in a smart way.

1. See, See, our houndour’d hostess. – the love that follows us sometime is our troubles. I think this tells us that lady macbeth has a very strong relationship with duncan or duncan is seeing macbeth. This is ironic as we know that macbeth is going to kill him but he is using the term houndourd hostess towards him.

Developing – I think Macbeth is beginning to change his mind about killing the king because he now realises that killing the king would have grave punishment if he was found to be the murderer. I think this is also present because William Shakespeare is changing the sterotypes of the time like having a strong man who isnt cowardly and a women who is more domestic than strong and is maybe quite cowardly this might of been done as a type of protest as macbeth would rather pay somebody money to assinate his targets which shows him as quite a coward.
