Joe is beginning to start worrying but the situation him and Simon are in and the intense sense of fate he is facing, soon enough Joe encounters his first fall, the distance between him and Simon makes it hard or them to communicate with each other. Simon (Who has frostbite now) becomes angry at Joe because he took too long to create a snow hole beneath the mountain ridge.
A story is told about two Japanese climbers who during the previous year were seen falling to their deaths which symbolise how close to death they really are. After a night’s rest the climbers start climbing with one simple goal in mind, get off the mountain as quick and as safe as possible.
