Part A
In this passage, Harper Lee uses many different details to present Miss Maudie’s view of Maycomb. Some of these details like her idea that Atticus was set-up to be Tom Robinson Lawyer, This brings the idea to mind that atticus is the best man for this case, This can be shown in many different areas in the book like the quote from Miss Maudie who says ” We’re so rarely could on to be Christians but when we do, we’ve got men like atticus to go for us” This Quote also shows Atticus good will and faith like he is showing by talking Tom Robinson Case in the first place.
In a Quote from Jem he says” Maycomb Folks are the best or that’s what they seemed to be” This shows Jem faithfulness for Maycomb is steadily decrease from all the racial hatred in Maycomb which Jem is opposed to in this society that he inevitably faces.
Part B
In To Kill A Mockingbird, Harper Lee many different details to show what life was like in America in the 1930’s where the racism was predominate in places like the aforementioned Maycomb county. The story centres around the idea of a racist society where only a select few white people were accepting of the black community, One of the main characters in the book is called Tom Robinson who has been charged with an alleged rape of a white person in the book, This can be drawn with a comparison to the Scottsbro trials in 1931 where 9 black teenagers where accused of gang raping two white girls in Alabama Texas. Jem at the end of the court case when Tom Robinson is found guilty of rape, cries and say ” This is so unfair” .
