Touching the void – Chapter 1 (Beneath the mountain lakes) Summary

The chapter starts off with two climbers (Simon and Joe) on the foot of the Peruvian Andes, ready to start climbing the mountain, we are introduced to their friend Richard who they met in Lima whilst on their travels, Richard was invited by Simon and Joe so he could look after their belongings whilst they were climbing the mountains, both Simon and Joe have worries about the weather, they spent a day exploring and returned with food supplies from two girls that live in the mountains. the next day they both set off for their journey to Sierra Norte still with doubts about the weather, they tell Richard that they will be back in 4-5 day.
